SVANETI

Majestic Mountain Region

The journey to Svaneti is an adventure in itself, with winding mountain roads leading to some of the most picturesque landscapes in Georgia. The region’s main town, Mestia, serves as a gateway to Svaneti’s wonders. Here, visitors are greeted by traditional Svanetian stone towers, which have stood for centuries as symbols of the region’s resilience and architectural ingenuity. These towers, used historically for defense and shelter, now provide a unique glimpse into Svaneti’s past.
Svaneti is renowned for its outdoor activities, offering a paradise for hikers, trekkers, and mountaineers. The trails lead through lush valleys, alpine meadows, and rugged mountain terrain, with the iconic trek from Mestia to Ushguli being one of the highlights. Ushguli, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe, where time seems to stand still amidst the ancient towers and traditional homes.
